Dubai, Jan 09th, 2012 (WAM) -- Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park project today in the presence of Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The AED 12B-project, which will cover an area of 48 square kilometers, is to be located in Sieh Al Dahl area on Dubai-Al Ain Road. In his speech on the occasion, Chairman of the Dubai's Supreme Energy Council Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, which was delivered on his behalf by Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Energy Council Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, announced the launch of the pioneering and first of its kind project in the region. Sheikh Ahmed pointed out that the implementation of the project, which is part of Dubai energy strategy 2030, will begin in the second quarter of this year.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2012.
