DOHA: The Villaggio Mall will open its 13 cinemas, one an IMAX 3D theatre, this summer.
"We will open our 13 cinemas at the Villaggio Mall between May and June this year. One is an IMAX 3D theatre. We are just finishing the decor, the carpeting, and we are looking into some other details... Once we've finished, we will announce the grand opening," said Mohammad Al Ali, General Manager of the Qatar Bahrain Cinema Company. Al Ali said the cinemas at Villaggio will be the same as the cinemas at the City Centre mall but with different concepts. "The bigger ones will have around 150 seats, the small ones 125 and the IMAX 3D theatre will have around 380. IMAX will have an entirely different concept and seating," said Al Ali.
Al Ali said a group of people from IMAX will be training people at the Villaggio IMAX cinema for permanent staffing.
