They set the screens on fire with their smouldering chemistry in The Dirty Picture, but you are unlikely to see any of that traditional courtship in Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi’s next release Ghanchakkar.
Their promotion song Lazy Lad for Ghanchakkar, releasing June 27 in the UAE, is anything but subtle. In the video, Balan — who plays a Punjabi housewife with a questionable dress sense — is seen reprimanding her husband Hashmi, a certified couch potato.
“Lazy Lad takes the term outlandish and loud to a whole new level. It’s a promotional video and we want to give viewers a taste of what to expect. It’s my first attempt at comedy,” said Balan in a recent interview with The weekend tabloid!. She was in her quaint trailer van waiting for her next shot to be set up, dolled up in a sheer black coat and tacky red number.
However, Hashmi, who is known as a serial kisser in Bollywood, has decided that he will not talk about the kissing scene in the film as Balan’s husband Siddarth Roy Kapur is the head of UTV which is producing the film.
“I have promised myself that for this film I will not answer this question. Siddarth, Vidya’s husband, is the head of this production house. If I want to do more films with them, then let’s not talk about it.”

Produced by UTV Motion Pictures and directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Ghanchakkar is a comedy of a zany couple who were ex-cons.
