DUBAI - Emirates Glass, the UAE's leading architectural glass manufacturer and one of Dubai Investment Group's subsidiaries, recently announced the purchase of a new super-machine that is set to triple production of tempered glass at its Dubai plant.

Emirates Glass has invested Dh16 million for the forced convection furnace recognised as the largest tempering furnace available in the world as well as additional machinery to expand the present production line.

We are very proud to be taking this lead. Emirates Glass will be the envy of every glass manufacturer in the world. There are few companies in our trade who would not desire the incredible immediate growth and potential market expansion that the new machines will offer Emirates Glass. This is indeed a historic day for Emirates Glass " said Jerry Dowling, General Manager, Emirates Glass.

The recent include the purchase installation of the ultra-modern Lisec automatic glass-cutting table that will deliver Emirates Glass, in comparison to other machines now in operation at other companies, a formidable triple production capacity. A second Lisec double glazing line, equipped with the latest  edge deletion facility and the upgrade of the sealing robot will also be installed. With the installation of a Schiatti double-edger and four-holed drilling station, edge working capability will also be tripled.

Collectively, the new machines at Emirates Glass will represent the largest, single glass manufacturing machines in the world. "In terms of production and sales, the installation of the new machines is certain to have global implications. It is more than likely that the entire quality glass manufacturing industry will have to sit up and take notice of the incredible pace at which Emirates Glass is set to grow. Emirates Glass will not only immediately expand its base of operations, triple its capacity, but also be set to invade previously inaccessible markets," said Ziad Yazbeck, sales and marketing director.
