Dubai Civil Aviation Authority is all set to launch a new community radio station to entertain and inform its employees and passengers.
Omran Hussain Ali Al Tawash, from the authority, said the new community radio service will allow the civil avi ation body's staff to communicate better with each other.
"Dubai International Airport has grown into an aviation hub and the number of employees has now reached about 2,000. The new service will facilitate communication among the police, immigration and security officials deployed in various sections of the airport," he said.
"It will also facilitate communication with the upcoming airport terminals and the proposed Jebel Ali International Airport." The network will cover Terminal 3 and Concourse 2, which are being built as part of the airport expansion.
"The radio service is among the latest e-services launched by Dubai's aviation body. The automated easy to use system can keep track of all the radio services offered by the Radio Services Department of Civil Aviation," he added.
Meanwhile, the Dubai International Airport has introduced Voice Portal, an interactive flight information system, to help passengers obtain flight information by dialling 04 216 6666.
