The Sweetie Pie of all, a singing canary with huge blue eyes, yellow feathers and an ornery tone that's Tweety Bird in a nutshell and he was born in 1942 as a character in Warner Brothers Looney Tunes and Merrie Mel-odies.
Earlier he was known as Tweety Pie but now kids call him Tweety Bird or just Tweety. Paired with the cunningly cute, lisping cat Sylvester he whips up quite a show onscreen and even now as he visits Al Ghurair City as part of its DSS activity.
Together the duo are keeping the crowds entertained until August 5. Each cartoon show runs for 30 minutes and begins at noon, 5pm, 6.45pm and 8pm daily. On Fridays, the noon show is not held.
"Tweety and Sylvester have come to town as part of a chain of cartoons that will visit Al Ghurair City all through DSS. The series started with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hitting stages, followed by Tom and Jerry and now these two.
Next in line is the Tasmanian Devil until August 19, and the Power-puff girls round up the fun until DSS ends on September 2," said Kennie Jones, the operations manager at USE Entertainment and Leisure Group, which has brought the cartoon characters to Dubai for DSS.
"The kids are having a blast with these classic cartoons, there is a good mix of song and dance. Children are called on stage randomly and they get to dance with their heroes.
Moreover, after the show winds up, the cartoon characters come off stage and meet the children, who can also take pictures with them so it adds to the value of the performance and presence for the little lot," added Kennie.
