Turkmen in Kirkuk (240 km north of Baghdad), demanded on Monday, Kurdistan Region to withdraw Peshmarga troops from the areas they entered in after Hawija events.
"Turkmen demand the leadership of Kurdistan Region to withdraw Peshmarga that have been deployed after Hawija events and demanded the central government to allow forming a force of these areas' people affiliated to the federal ministries," the head of Turkmen Front MP, Arshad Salehi said in a news conference attended by "Shafaq News".
"If not responded to our demands we demand to deploy neutral international forces in these areas for fear of imposing Peshmarga forces on Kirkuk , Tuz Khormatu, Diyala and Tal Afar areas," adding that "Turkmen are waiting for an official position from Hawija protestors ".
Salehi considered "Peshmarga deployment as unconstitutional ".
Peshmarga forces refer to armed Kurdish fighters.
Ministry of Peshmarga in Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced, on Saturday that it filled the gaps left by the Iraqi army in the disputed areas in Kirkuk , Diyala and Salahuddin provinces , fearing that armed elements might sneak to these areas, stressing that the goal is to protect all national and religious components in it.
