TUNISIAONLINENEWS- President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali received on Wednesday, the Executive Chairman of the "Qatari Diar" group, Mr. Mohamed Al-Hadfa.
During the meeting, the Head of State took cognizance of the projects the group is planning to achieve in Tunisia. President Ben Ali was also briefed through a scale model and explanatory tables, of the Tozeur Saharan resort project.
This mega- project which will cover a 40-hectare area, will include residential units, a Roman theatre, an Arab tent and a health-fitness and relaxation centre.
The Head of State showed interest in this project which in terms of aesthetics and style draws inspiration from the Jerid region's architectural and agrarian peculiarities.
He lavished encouragements to the "Qatari Diar" Group to achieve this project under the best conditions and the shortest terms.
In a statement after the meeting, Mr. Mohamed al-Hadfa said that the project will be one of the first projects to be carried out in Tunisia by "Qatari Diar," expressing the group's conviction in the health of the Tunisian economy.
Having reviewed the components of this project, Mr. Al- Hadfa announced that t construction works will begin upon completion of studies and the project will be entirely completed in about thirty months.
He also pointed out that "Qatari Diar" is currently examining other investment opportunities in Tunisia.
