A meeting was held on Tuesday at the El Ghazala technological park on the opportunities offered by "Diva SICAR", a new investment company with a venture capital and the subsidiary of the public operator "Tunisie Telecom" which specializes in the financing of innovative projects with high -added value services.
Organized on the theme "Tunisie Telecom, partner of innovative projects", the event was an occasion for business owners and holders of innovative project ideas to take cognizance of the opportunities offered by this new project developed for funding and support, particularly of small and medium enterprises.
With a capital of 20 million dinars, "Diva SICAR" has been tasked since its creation to strengthen the companies' capital stock of the ICT sector in the growth phase, by taking minority stakes (between 10 and 49% of capital).
Regarding its specific objectives, "Diva SICAR" aims at creating synergy with its shareholders, including, "Tunisie Telecom", which holds 85% of its shares in order to promote projects in the ICT sector, and ensure that these projects have a positive direct or indirect impact on activities of telecommunications (mobile content development, data center, M-payment).
Business contacts between "Diva SICAR" leaders and business leaders, as well as developers of innovative project ideas, were also set forth during the meeting.
On 19 May, 2009, Mr. Montassar Ouaili, Tunisie Telecom's CEO , launched the venture capital "Diva SICAR" as a subsidiary of "Tunisie Telecom" in partnership with the STB Bank and the BH Bank.
