The economic potentials of investment and business offered by Tunisia, continues to attract strategic partners in African countries. Tunisia and Cameroon, whose ambition is to boost bilateral cooperation, have already signed several agreements relative to health and tourism.

 
The latest development in Tunisian Cameroonian cooperation is a workshop  held on Wednesday, in Tunis, between Mr. Ridha Ben Mosbah Minister of Commerce and Handicrafts and Mr. Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, Cameroon's  Minister of Commerce, on the prospects of further developing economic relations between Tunisia and Cameroon.

Both parties highlighted the political commitment of  the two Heads of States, President Ben Ali and President Paul Biya, to develop bilateral ties from a perspective of "equal partnership".

On this occasion, Mr. Ridha Ben Mosbah reviewed the Tunisian approach in developing partnerships with African countries, and the tenets of economic development in Tunisia, while stressing the importance of different industrial upgrading programs, services and distribution channels.

Referring to the positioning of the Cameroonian economy in its regional environment and the prospects of its development in the global economy, the Cameroonian minister said that "the Tunisian experience would be a great source of inspiration".

The workshop was also an opportunity to review the various aspects and opportunities of cooperation the  agricultural sector  and  its various components.

In a related event, a meeting was recently held between the Cameroonian Trade Minister and Mr. Abdessalem Mansour, Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources on ways to promote agricultural cooperation between both countries.

The two ministers reviewed the potential to stimulate partnership between the two countries in organic farming, as well as in agricultural research mainly in the cereals sector.
