On the sidelines of the Third Tunisian-Cameroonian Business Forum held on Tuesday in Yaounde, Mr. Chokri Mamoghli, Secretary of state in charge of Foreign Trade, briefed the Cameroon's trade minister on the Tunisian government's strategic orientations in reinforcing cooperation and investment in Africa, as part of an equitable partnership.

Mr. Chokri Mamoghli expressed Tunisia's willigness to reach a preferential agreement with the Central Africa Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC), similar to the West African Economic and Monetary Community agreement (UEMOA).

For his part, the Cameroonian trade minister expressed the commitment of  Cameroon's President  to pursue bilateral cooperation, underscoring the importance of Tunisian assistance in processing of basic products.

During his visit to the Cameroonian Capital, Mr. Mamoghli also had a meeting with the Cameroonian Minister of Small and Medium-sized businesses and Handicrafts during which he reiterated Tunisia's willingness to exchange experiences as well as expertise in matters of economic diversification and small and medium-sized business's development.

The secretary of state stressed, during his talk with the Cameroonian Foreign Minister, that the bilateral cooperation has recorded a new impulse since the last joint commission, conveying President Ben Ali's consideration and friendship to President Biya.

Cameroon's Foreign Minister expressed his country's commitment to provide the necessary support, as part of the African fraternal relations, to President Ben Ali's initiative to host the International Youth Conference.

Mr. Mamoghli was also received by the Cameroonian Prime Minister, with whom he evoked the Tunisian economic liberalization process.
