MUSCAT -- The Wave, Muscat has won the premier accolade for the GCC region at The 2010 Bloomberg Arabian Property Awards in Dubai last week, winning the prestigious Best Development category.
The Wave, Muscat also won three five-star awards for Best Marina, Best Golf and Best Overall Development in Oman before winning the 'Blue Ribbon' award for 'Best Development in Arabia' against over 100 entries from across the GCC.
The Wave, Muscat will now represent the whole of the GCC at the World's Best Property Awards in London in late November against the Best Developments in Europe, America and Asia-Pacific.
Michael Lenarduzzi, CEO of The Wave, Muscat said this was the first time the project had won the premier category award and we are particularly delighted that Oman's premier development has been recognised against the best in the region for the quality of design and delivery happening at The Wave, Muscat.
Lenarduzzi highlighted that the award is recognition of the vision of the joint venture partners and the emerging strength of Muscat, Oman as a leader in world-class integrated development.
Lenarduzzi added, "Despite the challenges for international property in recent years, Oman has grown from strength to strength and The Wave, Muscat's commitment to a vision of excellence is setting the benchmark for delivering master-planned tourism infrastructure which includes a new beachfront residential community, golf course and Marina."
This is not the first time that The Wave, Muscat has achieved award success in the Arabian Property Awards. The development received a number of accolades in 2007 and 2008 and won the award for Best International Architecture in 2009.
The annual awards were judged by 50 property professionals and benchmark projects in terms of design, build, specification, finish, price levels, marketing and customer service.
The Wave is an exciting new concept for Muscat and, indeed, for the Sultanate of Oman.
Bringing more than 4,000 apartments, townhouses and villas, a Marina and golf course, three premier hotels and new retail, leisure and dining opportunities to this beautiful seafront site, The Wave, Muscat is the first major integrated resort and residential development to be undertaken in the Greater Muscat region.
Over 550 apartments, villas and townhouses have already been delivered at The Wave, Muscat with almost an equal number to be delivered over the next year.
"We are delighted with our success in the Arabian Property Awards and are proud to be representing Oman as the leading Arabian property development against the world's best on the international stage", said Lenarduzzi.
