Dubai, Nov 30th, 2009 (WAM) -- Dubai Properties Group (DPG), a member of Dubai Holding, today announced the Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), will host a Heritage Village in a three-day gala, showcasing the heritage and culture of the UAE as part of the countrys 38th National Day celebrations.
To be held from 2 - 4 December, the Dubai Tourism Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and the Community Development Authority (CDA) will lead the celebrations at the exclusive beachfront shopping promenade. Khalid Al Malik, Group CEO of Dubai Properties Group, said: "The Walk at the JBR is one of the leading shopping and entertainment areas in Dubai that enjoys a high footfall of daily guests by virtue of its location and the various outlets it features, from leading brands to specialised restaurants. Our association with DTCM and CDA will help offer our visitors an overview of the UAEs rich heritage, even while allowing families and the general public to enjoy the spectacular open air ambience."The Heritage Village recreated close to the Hilton Hotel will feature 10 traditional houses, each offering a kaleidoscope of life in the desert as well as in the more urban areas. Shops for handicrafts, coffee, popular and traditional photography, henna and a special corner for children will also occupy centre stage at the venue. Alongside the Heritage Village, the annually acclaimed cake donated by Bab Al Shams hotel of the Jumeirah group will beckon visitors with its attractive depiction of some of Dubais most iconic developments. Traditional UAE food will make its impact on 3 December with more than 380 chefs from 38 hotels across Dubai aiming to collectively cook a traditional Emirati meal. Additionally, workshops will be conducted for the public during the day on best ways to cook various authentic UAE dishes. Local dance troupes will also etch their presence at The Walk, along with roaming clowns who will distribute giveaways for kids.
