KIRKUK/ Aswat al-Iraq: Electricity Minister Kareem Aftan opened today Taza gas power station in a special ceremony.

The cost of the station reached $88.5 million with production capacity of 293 M/W.

Minister Aftan added during the ceremony, which was attended by Aswat al-Iraq, that this station will end buying electricity from the Kurdish region in the coming years.

Kirkuk, center of the province, lies 280 km north east of the capital, Baghdad.
