ABU DHABI, 25 May, 05 (WAM) - The National Human ResourcesDevelopment and Employment Authority (Tanmia), has signed a Memorandumof Understanding (MoU) with Barclays Bank to train over 20 UAENationals in banking and finance and provide them with employmentopportunities at the bank. The MoU was signed by Marwan Al Sawaleh,Assistant Director General -Manager of the Employment and SkillsDevelopment Center, Tanmia and Mark Petchell, Group Country Manager,Barclays UAE, at the recently concluded Careers UAE 2005 heldin Dubai.
Barclays Bank will provide intensive three-month training, usingthe expertise of in-house trainers and banking professionals.
At the end of the course, participants will be required to appearfor an examination and the bank will give priority to the successfulcandidates, while filling up vacancies within the bank, accordingto a press release."Increasing the number of UAE Nationals in the banking and financesector is a key objective of our overall Emiratisation drive,"said Al Sawaleh. "Our partnership with Barclays Bank is an extensionof our long term commitment to equip UAE Nationals with the requiredskills and prepare them for the job market.
