Tehran - No talks will be held with the G5+1 before administration of the president-elect Hassan Rohani is established, Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Araqchi said Tuesday.

Addressing reporters at his weakly press conference, he said, ˈNo official talks will be held before the new president and his cabinet take office.ˈ

Araqchi stressed that both sides are waiting for the end of ˈthis transitional periodˈ.

Talks will be held in its due time, the spokesman reiterated.

Asked about reports on the next round of talks between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency in August, he said Iran ˈdoes not confirm such reports.ˈ

There were proposals on the date of the next round of talks but no agreement has yet been made on the issue,ˈ Araqchi stressed.

Commenting on a report by an Arab newspaper that claimed Iran had supported Masud Barzani to become Iraqˈs president, Araqchi said, ˈNeither Iran nor any other country has the right to interfere in the process of presidential election of any state.ˈ

Barzani is the president of Iraqˈs autonomous Kurdistan region.

Presidential election in Iraq or in any other country is an internal affair of that country and depends on the will of that nation,ˈ Araqchi stressed.

Referring to the July 7 meeting of Barzani and Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al-Maliki, he said that was a ˈpositive stepˈ which would help strengthen unity among various ethnic groups of Iraq leading to restoration of peace and stability in that country.
