Rome - Syrian expatriate Dr.Mohammed Radwan Khawatmi has been named the top foreign businessman in Italy this year in an appreciation of his great success in the field of business where he was distinguished in performance and quality .
The award is granted annually by the Italian International MoneyGram Institution for expatriate businessmen and innovators in Italy.
Dr.Khawatmi was chosen out of 520 candidates of distinguished businessmen and expatriates in Italy from the five continents by the Jury which was headed by Chairman of the Italian Industrialists Association for Small Projects Giuseppe Morandi ,a number of representatives of the Italian Trade Union, Gruppo II Sole 24 ORE Daily Newspaper and the University of Rome III .
Dr.Khawatmi founded Hirux International company for electric machines and home appliances in Milan in 1978.
Dr.Khawatim said that he was proud of the award and his belonging to his homeland Syria and the Syrian productive and intellectual abilities in different domains, underlining the importance of the continuous communication with Syria and the participation of Syrian expatriates in the process of comprehensive development.
