Moscow - The Syrian community in Russia affirmed commitment to the national firm principles in defense of the people and homeland, and protecting Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

During their meeting Sunday with Syria's ambassador to Russia, Riyad Haddad, members of the Syrian community expressed pride in the Syrian army for its victories over terrorism across the country, praising their national army's resolve to eradicate the foreign-backed terrorism that has wreaked havoc in the homeland.

''Syria is more determined than ever to push ahead with dialogue for reaching a solution that ends the crisis so as to embark on reconstruction and tackling the aftermath of the global war waged against it,'' the ambassador pointed out.

He indicated that the foreign sponsors of the ''Coalition" tried to force Syria into an awkward position during Geneva talks by suggesting a discussion of Geneva communique ''and they placed their bets that Syria will decline. But Syria agreed to go to Geneva and discuss the communique each item at a time.''

"The Coalition's delegation to Geneva 2 had no independent decision of its own; that's why it was surrounded in the first round of talks with 12 US diplomats to advise them and dictate to them what to accept and what to decline,'' he added.

On the humanitarian situation in Syria, Haddad said that Syria has agreed to comply with the United Nations Security Council resolution No. 2139 and to abide by the fundamental principles of the international law.
