Damascus - Syrian Minister of Tourism Saadallah Agha al-Qalaa discussed on Sunday with a delegation of Turkish investment company 'ENKA' establishing Turkish investment projects in Syria.

Minister al-Qalaa stressed the deeply-rooted relations between Syria and Turkey in all domains particularly in tourist cooperation.

"Several tourist sites were equipped with the up-to-date accommodations to attract tourists to come to Syria." Al-Qalaa added.

He added that Syria is witnessing an increase in the number of tourists coming to Syria, where it received six million tourists last year, and the tourist arrival rate during the first five months of this year reached 65 percent.

Director of development of investment projects at ENKA Alp Zor expressed his company's desire to invest in Syria, adding ENKA is preparing a study on the investment environment in Syria to pave the way for establishing projects of economic and tourist feasibility.

ENKA is one of the biggest investment companies in Turkey and Europe that works in the fields of hotels management and shopping centers.
