A huge fire has broke out in Al Quoz area of Dubai as black smoke could be seen rising from a long distance.

The fire erupted at 6pm in a Patchy chocolate warehouse in the industrial area.

There were four ambulances and 13 civil defence vehicles at the scene.

Because of the blaze, ambulance staff was not able to get into the warehouse. "No injured person has been brought out of the warehouse," an ambulance staffer told Emirates 24l7.

"Traffic is really bad here... I could move just a few signals in 35 minutes," said a motorist.

"The fire is out of control now and smoke is as high as over 50 feet. Fire-fighting teams are struggling to bring the fire under control. It's  real chaos right now," said an eyewitness.

Dubai Police urged the public not to gather at the fire site as a precaution.

Dubai Police said: "There is a major fire in a sweets warehouse in Al Quoz Industrial Area. For your own safety we request you not to be near the site."

"Please not to crowd or follow or approach the fire site for your safety," police said.

There were no casualties from the blaze, a Dubai Police official told Emirates 24l7.

This is the second fire in the Al Quoz industrial area in this week.

A fire broke out earlier this week in the warehouse of Sana Fashions  in Al Quoz. One person died in the fire and another is still missing.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) officials said power has been disconnected to Patchi warehouse and Dewa personnel are ensuring that electricity doesn't go in the whole area.
