Doha: Sun Microsystems Middle East and North Africa's (Mena) annual partner sales corner will be held on September 7-8 at the Kurumba resort in the Maldives. A number of Qatari partners have already confirmed their participation at the conference a press release said yesterday.
Hosted jointly with Tech Access, Sun's regional channel development partner, the event will be attended by channel partners focused on regional vertical sectors, and will feature interaction with global Sun partners such as ipanto, Huawei, Business Objects, Hitachi Data Systems, Engenio, Navlink and Citrix.
Highlights of the channel round-up will include seminars focusing on sales developments in the regional storage market, software updates, news about Sun's education program, and unveiling of the much anticipated Galaxy server family.
"Strengthening ties with partners and expanding Sun's presence in the rapidly growing and diverse Middle East and North African region - especially in the fastest-growing sectors such as banking and education -- remain at the top of Sun's agenda," said Chris Cornelius, managing director of Sun Microsystems Mena.
"Partner response to technology breakthroughs such as Solaris 10 has been overwhelming and the bi-annual sales corner gives us an opportunity to share recent successes such as this with partners while updating them on emerging Sun technologies," he added.
Pierre Brunswick, marketing manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa (Emea), will deliver the key-note speech at a gala dinner being held on September 7 to highlight new developments in Sun and AMD's hardware alliance. There will also be a special awards ceremony where partner will be rewarded for excellence in various categories.
