Muscat: As part of its tasks to encourage owners of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to develop their businesses and support them in achieving their objectives, the National Business Center (NBC) has incubated a project under the name of Muscat Digital Advertising Company (MDAC).

The project aims at using advanced technology in digital advertising. It is also intended at assisting the SMEs to deepen their business ideas and support them to be achievers, said Khalid bin Ahmed Al Abri, chief executive and founder of MDAC.  

This project is also designed to reduce the cost of traditional method of commercial advertisements which are considered to be expensive, compared to digital advertising, he remarked.

The goal of the project is to take advantage of modern technology in the promotion of business advertisements at affordable cost by using digital technology to advertise and facilitate the promotion of diverse brands of Omani as well as other private companies.

"In this context, the project was able to attract nearly 100 local enterprises to market their products through an online website www.Oman-be.com, which was specifically designed to fulfill the objective of the NBC digital business advertisements," said Al Abri.

Online national database
The project further plans to build an online national database for Omani private companies in the local market by targeting different oil and gas companies, electrical and the services sector organisations, he added.

The project will not only provide a wide-ranging solution to problem-solving and overcome some of the challenges witnessed by well-established companies and owners of SMEs, but it will assist in promoting products and achieving goals at a broad scale of the local market.

Khalid Albary mentioned that the national business centre has played a scientific role to support young Omanis in facilitating suitable work environment and as assigned a full time human resource cadre.
