Doha - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc continues its aggressive expansion in the Middle East by adding a new property in Doha.
The New Four Points is scheduled to open in January 2009 and will be owned by Almana Group and managed by Starwood Hotels under a long-term management agreement.
The Four Points by Sheraton Doha will be developed in the Mirqab Al Jadeed district in downtown Doha, along the main commercial and business centre, and within five kilometers from Doha International Airport.
"When you look at the development that we have been undertaking recently, Doha has been the winner so far with many hotels coming up. We signed a long-term management with Al Fardan Group for a new luxury St Regis hotel in Doha last month, now we are announcing the Four Points by Sheraton and we will also have the W Doha hotel which is scheduled for opening at the end of this year," Maha Saad, Regional Director of Public Relations for Starwood, said here on Thursday evening.
Speaking at the Starwood Middle East Sales Mission 2007 reception at the Sheraton, Saad said different brands are now being added since Sheraton has always been a landmark in Doha for the past 25 years.
"It has always been one brand and that is Sheraton. Now we have four additional brands and I think we still need two more brands to go; Le Meridien and Westin Hotels. Thus, Doha will have the highest number of brands operated by Starwood Hotels by the end of the year," she said.
Saad pointed out that the nine brands owned and operated by Starwood Hotels had their own different characteristics and core values and each targeting a specific market segment.
The multi-story Four Points hotel will offer 200 guest rooms and suites, two restaurants, lobby bar, pool bar, fitness center, outdoor pool, business center, 1,300 square meters of meeting and conference space, retail shops, showrooms, shopping arcade, serviced apartments, offices, conference areas over a total area of 70,000 square meters and hotel parking.
