New York - Relations with southern Countries is of particular importance to Morocco, notably with the African continent, said, on Friday, Foreign Minister, Taib Fassi Fihri.
Speaking at the 33rd Annual Meeting of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the Group of 77 and China, Fassi fihri said Morocco "will always be committed to reinforcing regional and sub-regional integration, and to addressing all the obstacles hindering trade and investment among the countries of the group."
He highlighted the large-scale anti-poverty program, the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) as an ambitious national program in line with the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) which aspires to reduce poverty and fight precariousness.
Fassi Fihri called on the G 77 Member States to cooperate on the basis of mutual solidarity and to prepare for upcoming international meetings such as the Copenhagen Conference on Climate Change and the Seventh Session of the WTO Ministerial Conference.
He also called on the group to coordinate efforts in this juncture of crisis to effectively contribute to the establishment of the new order of international governance which would serve the goals of development.
