Skiers enjoyed a perfect day on the slopes at Faraya on Monday. With clear skies and fresh snow, the resort was busy as families enjoyed the ideal conditions. Skiing is one of Lebanon's most popular winter activities, attracting people from all over the Middle East keen to try out the country's pristine mountain slopes.
With ski holidays available at a fraction of the cost of their European equivalents and with a variety of slopes within easy reach of Beirut, the future for Lebanon's winter sports industry looks as bright as the mountain snow upon which it is based.
Also, it looks like weather conditions for the next few days will be quite favorable for skiers, with lots of sunshine and mild temperatures ahead for the rest of the week. The Civil Aviation Department at Rafik Hariri International Airport predicted the weather to be mostly sunny this week apart from drizzles on Wednesday evening.
The weather forecast on Monday said temperatures would vary between 10 and 21 degrees Celsius along the coast, between 1 and 13 in the mountains, and between 2 and 15 in the Bekaa Valley. Humidity is expected to vary between 50 and 80 percent. - The Daily Star
