Dubai Shoe Mart, retailer of fashion footwear and accessories in the region, celebrates 20 years of operation this March.

The retail chain opened its first store in March 1990. There are now 27 Shoe Mart stores in the UAE and 88 in the GCC and other countries.

Shoe Mart has the distinction of being one of the oldest and most trusted shoe brands in the region.

To mark the occasion, employees and senior management celebrated at the Al Bustan Rotana where senior employees received awards. A sneak preview into the store's summer collection took place at The Dubai Mall Shoe Mart store.

Growth strategy

Shoe Mart which has witnessed "stupendous growth this year" plans to tap other markets as part of its growth strategy in the MENA region.

With a penchant to enticing its customers throughout the year, Shoe Mart has unveiled its "our 20 your 40" anniversary promotion which allows shoppers to obtain "Thank You" gift vouchers of Dh40 for every Dh150 spent.

Manu Jeswani, CEO of Shoe Mart said: "Shoe Mart as a brand has come a long way, from a one store shop at Bur Dubai to a multi faceted destination across the region.

Over the years Shoe Mart has built a number of in-house brands, namely Missy, Paprika, Peppermint, Little Missy, Barefeet, Juniors and Duchini, with a wide range of styles complementing every occasion. Shoe Mart is also a franchise partner in the region for international brands such as the UK footwear brand Kurt Geiger, Brazilian brand Dumond and other brands such as ECCO, Bata, Pablosky and Bianco.
