This is not the first time that Shingal faces such mass killings and ethnic cleansing. The Yazidis have been slaughtered 73 times before and the 74th is perpetrated now by the ISIS.

On the first day of the Yazidis «Summer Feast» they were attacked. This forced thousands of Shingali people and Yazidis to resort to Shingal Mountain and other Kurdish cities especially Duhok.

People resisted and fought against the ISIS for many hours but the lack of support and weapon forced them to withdraw. The Peshmerge forces had no choice but to retreat too.

Now, it has been three days since people ran to the Shingal Mountain. Since then they have suffered from lack of the basic needs like food, water and medicine.

Hundreds of children have died of hunger and thirst. Hundreds more of people had been killed by ISIS. Women have been kidnapped and harassed sexually.

Those who stayed in Shingal and the adjacent complexes have been killed.

Yazidis from all over the world have demonstrated addressing the humanitarian organizations and the United Nations (UN) to provide help and rescue Yazidis from the mountains and help those who fled to other cities.

Peshmerge forces headed toward Rabia and Shingal to save and rescue Yazidis and to retake control over Shingal again and they are in a continuous fighting with ISIS to force them out of the city .

YPG>s special Kurdistan forces from the Syrian Kurdistan have also played a great role fighting with ISIS.
