ABU DHABI, 1st June 2014 (WAM) -- The Educational Simulator Centre at Abu Dhabi Men?s College ? Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) was recently officially inaugurated providing the HCT students with the latest Shell licensed Tutorial and Simulator software to assist them in their curriculum.

Shell Abu Dhabi says the new centre is part of its long term commitment to support training and development of U.A.E. nationals.

Andrew Vaughan, Shell Abu Dhabi Chairman, and Vice President for Shell Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Syria, and Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chancellor Higher Colleges of Technology, along with other distinguished guests attended the opening ceremony, where some students tested the simulator and enjoyed a short tutorial about the ways to develop personal skills. The tool allows students to simulate gas plant operations, test process models and upset conditions.

Vaughan said, 'the simulation centre is adapted with state-of-the-art technologies, which will ensure proper education and fun at the same time." "This confirms our commitment towards developing the upcoming generations to better handle the energy sector and move towards a more productive society," he added.

On his part, Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chancellor Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), welcomed the innovation, and thanked Shell for helping HCT develop a sustainable economy, while also giving the students the practical, applied skills and knowledge that are embedded in all of HCT?s programs.

"We would also like to thank Shell for their efforts in bringing this challenge to the region and for its continued support of our students," added Kamali.
