KUWAIT, Oct 12 (KUNA) -- Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Information Award called on all concerned sectors, governmental or private, to register for this year's award on its online site, Award Director Dr. Khalil Abul said Sunday.
Dr. Abul's statements came during a press conference on the occasion of Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Information Award's eighth season.
Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Information Award aims to build an integrated technological community through investment in human resources.
Dr. Abul said that the award received His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's honorary badge. As throughout its work from 2001 to 2006, the award witnessed a new launch entitled "Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Information Award", in 2007 it launched into the Arab atmosphere.
He also referred to the award's three sectors, the information award, the development projects, and the numeric information, all aimed at achieving information development in the Arab world, and facilitating numeric information for researchers and those interested.
Meanwhile, the award Coordinator Dr. Thulaya Abdulal Al-Fozan said that the award is available for persons, civil community, private sector, governmental sector, education, health, media, communication and cultural sectors.
On the other hand, Media and Public Relations Coordinator, Engineer Bassam Al-Shimari said that 120 volunteers participated in the previous award committee in and out of Kuwait.
Al-Shimari added that the award is a non-profitable project that aims at boosting volunteer work in the information sector in Kuwait and the Arab world. Asserting on the importance of the media vision to develop the Kuwaiti and Arab societies via the information scale.
The Award press conference was held in Kuwait News Agency KUNA headquarters, with the attendance of media figures.
