Dubai, 25th Jan. 2011 (WAM) -- Ernest Hemingway, Agatha Christie, Mark Twain, William Faulkner, Jules Verne, Franz Kafka, Charles Dickens and Edgar Allan Poe are the eight universally acclaimed authors to be honoured by Montblanc, the world-renowned creators of bespoke writing instruments and luxury goods, at a unique exhibition that showcases these writers works and the select Limited Editions writing instruments that are crafted and dedicated to their memory.
The event will be opened by H.H. Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), on Wednesday (26th January) at the Dubai Mall at 7.00 PM. The Montblanc Writers Exhibition, staged in cooperation with leading booksellers Magrudys, will be held under the patronage of Sheikh Majid, at the atrium beside the Montblanc Boutique at The Dubai Mall, from January 27th to February 10th, 2011. "Great books by legendary writers give us not just immense joy, but they often play a significant role in shaping our ways of thinking and influence our lives," said Joe Nahhas, Regional Director of Montblanc. "Through this special tribute to these celebrated authors, Montblanc aims to spread knowledge and love for their works to book lovers everywhere," he added. The Writers Exhibition will provide insights into the life, works and inspirations of these influential award-winning writers. There will also be interactive live events led by local literary figures and academics during which visitors of all ages will have the chance to discuss the novels, enjoy live readings and discover more about each of the authors and their context. In addition, everyone will be able to enjoy browsing selected works, see the specially designed writing instruments inspired by each of the authors and purchase special gift editions.
