Sharjah: The Sharjah Calligraphy Museum marked International Arabic Language Day at Sunset Mall in Dubai on December 18-19. Celebrating the Arabic language’s role and contributions to the preservation of culture, the event focused on Arabic calligraphy, not only as an art form, but also as a medium for expressing heritage.

Artists participating in the two-day event include Zayd Al Aazami, Narjis Noureddeen, and Ali Alhamadi, among others. In celebration of the day, the museum will also offer workshops on Arabic specific fonts and calligraphy tools and methods, and will host a lecture on the historical development of Arabic fonts.
