Sharjah Islamic Bank will move into a new headquarters tower on the Al Mamzar Corniche in Sharjah by 2007.

The signing of the contract for the bank's new headquarters took place recently at the bank's head office.

The architectural design concept was developed by Fraser Nag Partnership to reflect the bank's growth strategy.

Al Emaar Engineering was chosen as the main consultant for the project. The construction and contracting work was awarded to Al Amar Engineering & Contracting Co.

The contracts were signed by Hussain Al Qemzi, CEO of Sharjah Islamic Bank; Karl Nag, partner in The Fraser Nag Partnership, and Issa Ebrahim Farah, managing director of Al Amar Engineering and Contracting. "The new headquarters building is part of the continuous expansion and development the bank is conducting and aims to provide our clients with the latest in banking services," said Al Qemzi.

Construction of the 28-storey tower will begin this month with an expected completion date of August 2007.
