MUSCAT -- Rajayoga Education and Research Foundation, Oman is hosting a seminar tomorrow designed to encourage individual with busy daily schedules explore the benefits of meditation. 'Meditation for Busy People' is a seminar which will introduce participants to a simple but effective type of meditation known as Raja Yoga, says Helen Sayers (pictured), Project Director for the Rajayoga Education and Research Foundation.

"Raja Yoga meditation gives us a clear spiritual understanding of ourselves, helps us re-discover and use our natural, latent inner positive qualities, enables us to develop our values, strength of character and create new attitudes and responses to life." Sayers explains: "No matter how busy we are, we find time to eat and drink and look after the body.

But we often don't find even few moments to nourish the soul, the driving force of our lives. Yet the benefits are enormous and can actually save us many hours lost in worry, stress and tension. Meditation calms our mind and body; it replenishes our mental and emotional energy. No matter what our religion or philosophical background, meditation opens our hearts and minds to experience an unlimited source of peace, love, wisdom, joy and spiritual power."

The hour-long seminar, from 8-9 pm, will be held at the Foundation's offices at Way 2950, Villa 3743, Near Modern Oman Bakery, Al Iskan Street (Rex Road), Ruwi. The Foundation offers courses and seminars in self development in areas such as positive thinking, stress management and meditation. Sayers also represents the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University at the United Nations in Geneva, promoting universal values in the fields of human rights, health, the environment, women's and children's issues and education.
