The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), Air Arabia and tourism sector representatives are embarking on a first-of-its-kind road show through Turkey, Bulgaria and Greece from today.
The aim is to attract more European tourists to Sharjah by promoting its tourist attractions in these three prime European destinations. Representatives of Sharjah International Airport Authority, Radisson Blu Resort and Golden Tulip Sharjah Hotel will also join in the show, which goes on till February 21.
Mohamed A Al Noman, Director General, SCTDA, stressed the importance of such road shows saying these were particularly important given the challenges facing the global tourism sector and the major changes arising out of the economic crisis.
"These challenging times make us responsible for fulfilling all requirements that will ensure Sharjah a leading position on the regional and global tourism map. We will do this by increasing the marketing and promotional activities for the emirate, with particular focus on its unique blend of past and present, which makes it emirate a world-class destination of choice, particularly for cultural and heritage tourism," he added.
