Saudi Arabia has issued tenders for a project to construct three entry gates for its Western Medina town, a local newspaper reported on Sunday.
"The projects involve a comprehensive network of services and stations for cars and buses, landscaped gardens and offices for government bodies operating these gates," Talal Al Radadi, Secretary General of Al Madinah Al-Munawwarah Development Authority (MMDA) told the Arabic language daily Al Eqtisadiah.
He added that the gates would be located at the eastern, southern and western flanks of the city.
The project also involves the construction of mosques, shops, restaurants, car parks, data control centres and other facilities, said the official without giving any further details.
