DUBAI (Zawya Dow Jones)--Saudi Arabian Oil Co., or Saudi Aramco, the world's biggest oil company, said Wednesday it made two new executive appointments.
Aramco said in a statement on its website that it had appointed Khalid Abubshait as executive director of Saudi Aramco affairs and Nasir Al Naimi as executive director of pipelines, distribution and terminals operations. The appointments are effective as of July 1.
Abubshait joined Aramco in September 1970 as an apprentice before moving on to work in training and career development in Dhahran and Ras Tanura. He worked in Houston, U.S., with Aramco Services Co. as administrator, career development, for five years before being appointed manager of the SAA-Central Province Department in Riyadh.
More recently he served as director general of oil minister Ali Al Naimi's private office in Riyadh, and in 1997, Abubshait was appointed as general manager, special assignment.
Nasir Al Naimi joined petroleum engineering's professional development program in 1986. In 2008, he was appointed general manager of southern area producing in Udhailiyah.
