JEDDAH, 1 July 2007 -- Samsung Electronics introduced a new range of its state- of-the-art home appliance products here over the weekend. The range includes LCDs and PDP HDTVs, Quattro refrigerators, air-conditioners and three-in-one microwave ovens.
Samsung's Country Manager Gye Choon Cho introduced the new range to the media. "Our new V-series range represents the world's first air-conditioners that fight bird-flu and certain other infections," he said.
The Samsung patented Micro Plasma Ion, embedded in the V-series the hallmark of the new range generates active hydrogen atoms which combine with oxygen ions to strongly purify the air by decomposing viruses, bacteria and allergens.
All the new models feature the Korean giant's cutting-edge technology -- Good Sleep Mode -- that automatically adjusts the room temperature and maintains the optimum skin condition during the three stages of dormancy --"falling asleep," "sound asleep" and "wake up".
Its air wash system is a "revolutionary" washer claims to remove unpleasant smells, microscopic allergens, harmful bacteria and microbes through its innovative hot air technology and physical strength. Detergent or other chemicals are no longer needed.

The new first-of-a-kind microwave oven comes equipped with semiconductor-based sensor technology. The new technology is specifically developed to overcome barriers of conventional humidity sensors and thereby help customers reduce cooking time with improved results. The ovens utilize artificial intelligence, which is the first-of-its-kind, to monitor ambient gas/vapor emission in food. At the push of a button, a sensor detection device automatically checks the food condition and stops by itself after calculating the required time.

Its first-ever four-door convertible refrigerator features four climate zones with adjustable temperature settings to allow truly customized food storage. The core of the convertible refrigerator lies in its exclusive time-divided multi-cycle system, which includes four separate evaporators to ensure optimal temperature and humidity for each section.
The M8-Series, the flagship model for the LCD line-up, is a full HDTV range supporting the highest video-resolution standard in the industry, 1080p. With a resolution of 1920x1080, the models offer full high definition pictures -- nearly two times greater than standard HD models, a dynamic contrast ratio of 15000:1 as well as supports three Samsung patented technologies -- "Super Clear Panel", "Movie Plus" and "Wide Color Enhancer". While its "Super Clear Panel" features improves color reproduction levels and boosts the contrast ratio, the "Movie Plus" technology calculates the motion component of the incoming video signal and interpolates the action to create new frames without the judder effect and the "Wide Color Enhancer" ensures better presentation of colors in bright pictures.
