JEDDAH, 19 May 2004 — Saudi Arabian exports of textiles and clothing were ranked fifth among 23 selected Islamic Development Bank countries in terms of growth and 15th in value, according to UN Comtrade figures quoted by Munir Ahmed, executive director, International Textiles and Clothing Bureau.
 
Its exports increased from $55 million in 1995 to $134 million in 2002 — a 13.6 percent increase. The majority of the Kingdom’s exports in 2002 went to the US ($27 million) and the EU ($29 million).
