Jeddah - Khadiga Bint Khowailed Center, the newly exclusive female section at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, set up the introductory assembly of creative handicrafts project last Monday. Dr. Nadia Baeshin, the general manager of the center and Ms. Fatin Bundagji, the director of women empowerment and research programs, they addressed a large audience of women conducting their own business from their homes.

The gathering was to inform and enlighten the interested audience of the coming creativity award organized by the center. The coming competition as explained by Dr. Baeshin is to attract home-based working women, exclusively in the field of souvenirs and handicrafts. Dr. Baeshin explicitly illustrated the importance of showing the Kingdom's various cultural heritages through ingenious souvenirs. Bundagji gave the audience full coverage of the event, which is organized by the women's empowerment and research programs unit. The unit aims to enforce women role to establish any kind of home-based business. That as, Bundagji pointed out that it will help unemployed women not only to occupy themselves, but also to hire other unemployed females. Another essential demand is the lack of the publicity opportunities to promote the women's products. The recently launched center has already completed a professional course for twenty-two aspiring women to educate and prepare them on the process of managing business. Impressively, five of the graduate women succeeded greatly and took their businesses outside their homes.
