JEDDAH: Alesayi Motors Corporation, the exclusive distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Saudi Arabia, has launched the 4th generation Pajero in the Kingdom on Tuesday.

Sheikh Bandar Saeed Alesayi, assistant deputy president of Alesayi Motors Corporation, welcomed the guests at Mitsubishi Motors showroom on Madina Road here. True to the company's philosophy of "evolution not revolution, many of the changes to the all-new Pajero have taken place under the skin, Sheikh Bandar said.

Introducing the "all new Pajero" which is the flagship of Mitsubishi Motors range, Mark Pocock, country general manager sales & marketing said, "The new Pajero was designed and built incorporating the rally-winning technology developed and tested in the toughest race in the world."

Since the inception of the Dakar Rally in 1979, an annual off-road endurance race which was then known as the Paris-Dakar Rally, Mitsubishi Pajero won the much-coveted championship award 12 times, with seven straight wins from 2001 to 2007.

The rally is not a conventional one as the terrain competitors traverse is much tougher and the vehicles used are true off-road vehicles rather than the modified sedans used in rallies. Many vehicle manufacturers exploit the harsh environment the rally offers as a testing ground, and consequently to demonstrate the durability of their vehicles.

Pocock said the Pajero's accomplishments "is a testimony to the fact that it has no contenders and is in its own class."

Alesayi Motors believe that the new Pajero, which offers the ultimate motoring package and will be the first SUV in the Saudi Market to offer a 200,000 km or five-year warranty will be a great success and the obvious choice for any discerning motorist.
