BEIRUT: Head of Hizbullah’s executive council Sayyed Hashem Safieddine said Sunday that those seeking to destroy Hizbullah will see their conspiracies destroyed. He spoke during a gathering in the Bekaa Valley city of Baalbek and addressed “those who dream of ripping apart Hizbullah.” “You will wake up one day to realize your conspiracies and your projects of a sectarian country have been torn apart,” he said. Safieddine added that the resistance against Israel was ready to face future challenges and warned the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, which is probing the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri was “not only politicized” but “a true American-Israeli conspiracy.” He called on all Lebanese groups to act responsibly in order for the country to emerge from “strong and resistant” following the indictment. “The United States is delusional about controlling the resistance,” he added. – The Daily Star
