Qatar’s new Minister of Energy and Industry, Muhammad Salih al-Sada, has been appointed chairman of the board of Qatar Petroleum (QP), under a decree issued on 14 February by the Amir of Qatar Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani reconstituting QP’s board of directors. Mr Sada replaces outgoing QP chairman 'Abd Allah al-'Attiyah, who last month handed over the energy and industry portfolio to Mr Sada (MEES, 24 January). The new board is now made up of Mr Sada, who will also serve as managing director, Hamad Rashid al-Muhannadi, deputy chairman, and the following members: Fahd al-Muhannadi, Nasir Khalil al-Jaidah, Sa'd Shuraidah al-Ka'bi, Khalifah 'Abd Allah al-Suwaidi and 'Isa Hilal al-Kawwari. The board will serve for a period of four years.
