Ajman, Feb 05th, 2012 (WAM) -- Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman HH Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi said today that the increasing number of universities and colleges of higher education in the UAE is a positive reflection of the country's progress, from which all citizens and residents in the country will benefit.

He pointed out that the leadership moves ahead in the right direction providing a solid base for higher education and academic development in order to create a generation of nationals who will rightly understand the country.

The Ruler made this statement while he was inaugurating the campus of the City University College in Ajman.

City University College of Ajman (CUCA) is a newly established institution of Higher Education under the patronage of Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman HH Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi.

The Ruler expressed his pride in opening in the emirate, one more institution of higher education recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

CUCA joins a group of universities and colleges located in the Emirate of Ajman.

He called on the citizens to take advantage of all of the academic facilities, colleges and universities, to look to the future with full preparation and determination and to enhance their knowledge, so that they can contribute to the development of the nation.

The Ruler said that the best investment the humanity can make today is in education, which is considered the facade of civilisation for any country.

He also stressed the importance of making investments in educational projects and pioneering academic ventures which will help own knowledge and technology. This in turn, will open before the growing generation of the national cadre, the opportunity to march towards progress and development.

Upon arrival at the venue, the Ruler was received by Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi Chairman of the Department of Tourism Development, Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi Chairman of the Department of Municipality and Planning and Chairman of the City University College in Ajman and a number of senior officials.

After cutting the traditional ribbon marking the official opening of the college campus, the Ruler, accompanied by Sheikhs and officials toured various sections in the new facility including lecture halls, laboratories and library.
