Royal Jordanian (RJ) started on Thursday "Online check-in", a new service enabling passengers to issue their boarding passes electronically from their homes, offices or any place connected to the Internet, through its website. This service is part of the company's endeavours to automate and streamline travel procedures. Through this service, RJ passengers can check in online 24 hours before departure, through the website, www.rj.com, following a series of easy steps.

The service is accessible to RJ passengers travelling out of Amman to all international destinations except for the US, as a first phase, which will be activated soon. At a later stage, the service is to be extended to cover all RJ destinations. Online check-in also allows RJ passengers who only have carry-on luggage of appropriate size and weight to make their way directly to the boarding gate after stamping their passports at the immigration counter without passing through the traditional travel procedures. Passengers who carry heavy luggage will have to pay a short visit to the online check-in baggage counter which closes one hour prior to departure. RJ President/CEO Hussein Dabbas said: "Royal Jordanian permanently seeks to improve its services by keeping pace with the modern technology in the air transport industry".
