MADRID (Dow Jones)--Repsol YPF SA (REP.MC) has sent representatives to meet with Libya's National Oil Corp in order to restart operations in the war-wracked country as soon as possible, a Repsol spokesman said Tuesday.
Repsol has also sent a small team to evaluate the condition of its facilities in the country.
The company's Libyan facilities were undamaged as of July 28, the date of Repsol's most recent quarterly conference call with investors, the company said then.
Repsol has said that once its employees are able to return to Libya, if Repsol's facilities remain in good working condition, the company could be ready to restart operations in a matter of weeks. The Spanish oil firm pulled its employees out of the country early this year.
