MUSCAT -- The Contract Services business wing of Renaissance Services has won a new contract in Angola, valued at RO4.6 million ($12 million) for an initial period of two years with options to renew.

The client is Sociedade Mineira do Luo, part of the Escom/Espirito Santo Group that operates a mining project in the Luo region. Escom is one of the largest private foreign investors in Angola, operating in the areas of mining, real estate, energy, aviation, fisheries and procurement.

Renaissance's Angola office has confirmed its intention to operate the project with over 90 per cent local staff. This is in line with the group's commitment to train and develop indigenous populations in all markets.

The Contract Services Group had performed an excellent debut year in Angola achieving 15 per cent market share in 2008. This new contract supports the company's vision to be an internationally competitive and premier service company.
