Hargeysa, Somalia, May 01st, 2009 (WAM): A humanitarian delegation sent by the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) to Somalia to treat blindness and other eye diseases has arrived in the northwestern city of Hargeysa.
The mission is part of RCA's initiatives to help the people of Somalia and give them free medical services, especially for those who suffer from curable blindness and other visual impairments. Soon after their arrival, the delegation started preparations for a medical camp, where clinical examinations and necessary treatment including eye surgery will be performed. The team of expert medics and paramedics is led by Dr. Saleh Moosa Al Thae, Assistant Secretary General for Relief and Projects at the RCA.
