LAHORE, 25th September, 2013 (WAM)--The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) distributed 10, 000 clothes to Pakistani children at four orphanage centres in Lahore city, Punjab region.
Director of RCA office in Islamabad, Hamad Abdullah Al Ali and employees at the office, distributed clothes to 10, 000 orphans in the presence of UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Eisa Abdullah Al Basha Al Nuaimi, officials in the government of Punjab and dignitaries. Al Nuaimi expressed his profound sorrow and solace to the teachers and students at the centres, as well as to the families of those killed in the earthquake that hit southern Pakistan, noting that the UAE and Pakistan enjoy distinguished relations. He added that the UAE led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, "is one of the biggest investors in Pakistan, with the investments worth about $20 billion", adding the UAE humanitarian and development assistance is provided continuously to Pakistan. The assistance includes, building of hospitals, institutes, houses and other infrastructure projects. Ambassador Al Nuaimi praised the efforts being exerted by the RCA staff in Islamabad to implement the campaign of the Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to dress one million poor children around the world. He noted that 40, 000 children have benefited so far from the campaign, adding that the second phase of the campaign targets the distribution of 300, 000 clothes to the needy Pakistani children.
