DOHA - The Public Transport Company (Mowasalat), has launched a new and bigger set of Airport Services Taxi Fleet.
A total of 150 units of 2007 Ford Freestar are specially marked with "Airport Services" along with the internationally-recognised airport icon on all sides. Also bearing the Karwa logo on the sides, the new set of fleet is ranked at the arrival area of the airport available 24-hours non-stop for airport services. Because of the special markings, public can easily identify the vehicles, said Ahmed Al Mansoori, Executive Director, Mowasalat, here yesterday.
"We are delighted to provide not only new units of cars but bigger and more spacious airport taxis to service this particular segment of our customers, normally traveling to and from the airport, who require quite a large space for their luggage and personal belongings," he said.
The 2007 Ford Freestar has a maximum seating capacity of up to seven passengers or a spacious luggage compartment. Customers who require the new Karwa taxis can book them with a considerable time allowance by calling Karwa's hotline from any point in Doha. The customers with large or several luggage arriving in Doha can hire these units from the arrival area of the airport. They are also ranked with the new Ford Mondeo Wagon and Seadan variants for customers requiring minimal seating capacity and space cargo compartment. They are also specially marked with the same icons as 'Airport Services' and priced just the same," added Al Mansoori.
Nasser Al Khanji, Strategy Director of Mowasalat said, "We are certain of our plans in foreseeing the needs even before they come. The initial expansion of our airport services and our other recent launchings of new and additional transport services are all based on the result of our feasibility study in response to a fast developing Qatar," he said.
Mowasalat, which recently launched new units of GMC Savana equipped with state of the art automatic hydraulic-lifts for the physically challenged customers, takes the company to a new level and presents a clear indication of Karwa's dedication to provide commuters in all segments of the population in Qatar total safety, comfort and convenience," Al Khanji added.
