DOHA: The Information System Department of the Ministry of Interior installed a 'Self Service Machine' (SSM) at the Landmark Mall recently.
The SSM can help Qatari Smart ID Card holders make inquiries and complete their transactions 24 hours.
Brigadier Salih Khamees Al Kubaisi, Director of Information System Department, said SSM is one of the important electronic services provided by the Ministry of Interior.
The SSM will provide other new services in the future and the Ministry has plans to install more SSMs in other commercial centres in Qatar.
Brigadier Al Kubaisi added that a SSM user can renew the residence permits for those who are on his or her personal sponsorship. The public relations officers of companies also can renew the residence permits of employees if authorised to do so. Besides, Qatari families can issue exit permits for their minor family members who need the document from their parents to go abroad. The payment of traffic fine, enquiry about traffic violations, renewal of airport E-gate Card for completing exit and entry procedures, issue of exit permit for expats on user's personal sponsorship, and issue of exit permit for the companies workers can be done through and the SSM.
